One of my favorite wedding photographers, Melissa Jill, who often inspires my work and my business has had me thinking over the last couple of weeks about my ideal client. This client appreciates the same things I appreciate when it comes to photographs. I love the feeling and emotions that can be felt in a photograph. For example this next photograph from my niece's wedding a couple of weeks ago.

When I photographed Derek and Erin, I loved how few instructions I had to give to them and how their emotions of the day were so evident. They felt natural and their photographs showed. I love a couple who is oblivious to the camera and just being together is all that matters. Beautiful, simple portraits filled with emotions and so much love are what I am always striving for. Sometimes it is hard to achieve and I am still learning to overcome this.
My ideal couple understands the beauty of the image and the importance of capturing their entire wedding day is important to capturing the essence of their love for each other. This client also understands that adding special effects to the photograph does not make for a beautiful photograph. It is the emotion of the image that truly makes the photograph and that is why they will connect with my style of photography. They also want moments like the following images to be captured so as the years pass by and the memories fade away, they can always come back to the pictures to relive their day.

These are the moment that make me love photographing weddings. I love the excitement, the anticipation, and joy of the wedding day. The long hours put in on wedding day is all worthwhile when I get to sit in front of my computer and look all all of the images for the first time. I feel all of that excitement and joy rushing back to me. This is why I take great pride in my photographs and continue to push myself to becoming a better photographer and taking great images that are full of meaning and love. I hope that all of these things are felt when you view my photographs.
