Columbus, GA Photographer Personal | Mission Accomplished

For the last seven weeks, I have been waiting for this to come in the mail and finally it arrived yesterday morning. This has been a huge accomplishment for me, because I have worked for it for the last seven years. Yes, I know seven years, but I changed my major two times, worked a full-time job, and started my photography business. For the majority of those years, I was only going part-time to school. For these reasons, I am extremely excited to be finally finished and I just wanted to share the news!! I didn't really get any great pictures from my graduation ceremony or I would have shared those too.

I also wanted to share these gems with you. I grew up with a mom that could cook and all of my friends and siblings friends loved her cooking. My mom passed her love for baking onto me--although I rarely do bake. This is her recipe for Whoopee pies and I just finished making them at the request of my hubby. They are a delicious chocolate cooking filled with a vanilla creme...YUM!!

I do have several exciting weddings and photo shoots lined up in the coming months and will be sharing those pictures with you.

Personal | The man I married

The man I married 13 years ago today understands me in so many ways.

He truly can complete my sentence when I forget what I am trying to say. Which is quite often!

He is my polar opposite, but that's ok...

He has no problem spending money; I would like to save it.

He is opinionated; I am a people pleaser

Although he is opinionated, he still is a man of few words; I often say too much.

He is the calm in our relationship; I am easily angered.

He is a straight talker; I beat around the bush and then some.

He is my strength when all I want to do is run and hide.

He can sometimes be harsh; I have the compassion.

In spite of our differences, we have built a life together that is complete. Without my rock at my side, I know I would be a different person. When we met, I was a quiet and shy girl who lived in a shell. Today, it is his encouragement, that drives me to be a better person.

You might ask, do we have anything in common. Yes, indeed! We both have a L-O-V-E for everything Starbucks, NFL football, and most importantly, a love for each other. I know that at the end of the day, the man I married 13 years ago will always be by my side through all of life's trials and celebrations. I cannot imagine having anyone else by my side.

Happy Anniversary, Babe!

Weddings | Chris + Melissa

Last Thursday, Chris and Melissa became husband and wife in an intimate ceremony at Weems Road Baptist Church in Columbus. I was asked to photograph the wedding a week before the wedding so I was not able to get to know the couple very much.

Chris and Melissa have known each other for a long time and have been longtime sweethearts. Chris is currently serving in the Air Force and is going through training so their lives together have been put on hold for a few more months.

The church and reception were decorated in a winter wonderland theme.

Waiting on his bride....

Congrats Chris and Melissa on your marriage!
