Columbus, GA Photographer Lesson learned...

So the launching of a website does not automatically mean your site is immediately searchable (hmm...is that a word...probably not)...lesson learned. It seems as though you practically have to sell your soul to the devil for google or any other search engine to locate your website. You basically have to network and fork out lots of money for you to "move up" in the rankings. What?!?! Yes, as crazy as it sounds...you must pay money. Sure every start up business has $100 here and $500 there. So here I am networking and making the most of my ability or inability for lack of a better word. Ok, I will stop complaining for now.

Aside from that, I bought a brand new camera and very expensive lenses and got them in before Christmas. This has been some getting use to because it is professional grade. I have been experimenting with it and here are some of my favorite images.

This is my dog Abby. She is a blue tick hound mix and one of the sweetest dogs you will ever encounter.

The next two images were taken tonight just after sunset. The colors are just amazing in this image.

This image is quite dark but I love the shimmering reflection of the water.

I will continue to experiment and post more images. So long for now...

Columbus, GA Photographer Personal

It is not often we get the chance to say thanks so that is what I am doing today. Thank you to my clients who have given me the opportunity to photograph you. It is my goal to make this a full time business one day, but you have to start somewhere.

For those of you who don't know, I work full-time, attend college full-time, and now I am trying to start my own business. It is a long journey that I pray will seek its full potential one day. I will be graduating from college next December so that journey will end and it is my hope that this photography business will make a great fit. I never dreamed I would enjoy something so much and be able to make it my full-time job.

Ok, enough sentimentalism. I want to share a few of my favorite personal photos.

This picture is of my nephew that I took for my photo I class in college. For this class we shot in black and white film so we got to develop the film and print the photo. I love the sincerity of this shot. For those of you that are not photo enthusiasts, you must shoot a million pictures to get a GREAT one. For me, this is a great one. I love how the bubble above his head creates this idea of thoughts. He really looks like he is thinking of something.

The next one is yet another photo of my nephew. You might see a theme developing but this kid is just too cute....ok, so maybe I am a bit biased. Everyone tells me he is cute. This photo was taken at the railroad museum in Savannah, GA. He found a little playmate. What does it for me is the colors....love...love...love. Some people shy away from them, but color attracts my eyes....besides the cuteness of the two of them. :-)
That's all I have for you today. Have a great one!

Columbus, Ga Photographer

I apologize for the disappearance from my blog lately. It has been a busy month so I haven't had a chance to update my blog. Website update--My brother has started working on my website so be looking for it soon.

I had two shoots this past weekend-- one some good good friends, Eric and Megumi Edge. These too are extremely laid back and were totally into getting some great shots. We headed to Pine Mountain for some cool fall shots. Here are a few of my faves from this shoot.

I just love the stone wall in the background. It creates such great texture and depth to the photograph.
This is my absolute fave. I love how the water acts as a mirror and you can almost see the details of their faces in the water as well as the fall trees reflecting in the water. LOVE it!
This shot I love because of the playfulness of the image. I had so much fun at this shoot. Thank you Eric and Megumi for allowing me photograph you.

My next shoot was with the cutest little girl, Madison, and her mom Logan. We met in uptown Columbus to get some Christmas shots. Madison was a bundle of pure sweetness. I know her mom was tired of me telling her how cute she was. I tried so hard to get her to do some twirls for me, but she just would not do that. Here are a few of my faves from this shoot.

Ahhhh...what a precious smile she has. I just love, love, love this one. Before the shoot, Madison spotted one of her mommies lip gloss and would not give it back. So this lip gloss appears in most of the photos. Here is one where it is the focus of the image.

She is just adorable!

She was not having much of taking pictures with her mom so we just kind of went with it. I got her to lay down on this bench and it made for some of the cutest pictures.

Thank you Madison and Logan for the opportunity to photograph you!

I have another portrait session this weekend so be looking for the pictures to be posted soon.
