Columbus, Ga Wedding Photographer So many memories

So the last two weeks has been a bit crazy in my life, but a good crazy. My husband and I were invited to present a paper we collaborated together on for a research project on rural poverty at the Southern Anthropological Society conference in Savannah, GA. This was not the first time we had been to Savannah, but I was looking forward to the trip particularly because I had my new camera. As it turned out, we had very little time to do some sight seeing as I had wished, but I did get some shots in.

We left for Savannah late Thursday morning and returned late Saturday evening. The conference was at the amazing Hilton De Soto Hotel in downtown Savannah. The next two pictures are from the view from our 10th floor room. What an amazing sight!

We presented out paper Friday afternoon and immediately following the presentation, we headed to Tybee Island to eat at The Crab Shack. We took three other students with us that had presented their papers as well. The Crab Shack was a supercool place with A-M-A-Z-I-N-G food...specifically the crab. I foolishly got something called crab au gratin instead of the fresh crab. Lesson learned!

Here are a few pictures I took of our group. (Far left-my hubby, Garland, Center-Jessica, mid right-Nicole, and far right-Jennifer)

The next day we walked around the historic district of Savannah, and we came across this cute little whisker station. I fell in love with it. Apparently, cats are very well appreciated in Savannah and carry lots of meanings. I am not sure what the deal is, but I just had to have a picture of it.

This little guy was sunning himself in the window of a business. Too cute!

The next two pictures are very random, and I was just trying to be creative.

We ended up going back to Tybee Island to visit the beach before we left. I love the texture that is created with the shells.

Finally, I turned another year older the past Sunday. We actually celebrated it a week earlier (Valentine's Day) because I would be a part of the 2010 Ultimate Bridal Show on my actual birthday. This yummy concoction was chocolate cake and the most delicious raspberry and cheese cake filling. YUM! In case you are wondering it came from the Columbus Corner Bakery.

So Sunday, February 21st, I presented my work at the Bridal Show. I was not sure what to expect since it was my first time , but I sure had a great time. I met other photographers and wedding planners as well as lots of brides-to-be. Here is a picture of my booth. It was not nearly as impressive as some of the other photographers, but I had a good bit of interest.

I hope you enjoyed! Talk to you soon.
