Tasha

What a fun session this was! I have known Tasha for about 8 years now--we work together at my day job--and it was such a great shoot. The other day we met in uptown Columbus with the intent to do Christmas pictures with her son. However, her son spent the day with his dad so we had a change of plans on the style of pictures we did. I love it when my clients are willing to go into different areas to get non-traditional shots and this session was FULL of those types of shots. We found this fantastic alleyway at the old mills near the 13th Street Bridge. It was such fun to find a new place to shoot, but the fun didn't last too long. I'll tell you what happened later on in this post. Ahhhh....some suspense to keep you around.

Ms. Tasha was rockin' out the camera and I had SOOO many fantastic images to blog that I had to stop myself. This is the alleyway we were in and it had this stairwell that we got some great images from. How beautiful is she???

This is in the same alleyway around the back of the building that had some wonderful graffiti. We had just finished up this shot when we heard a small motorized vehicle come around the corner. It was a security guard kicking us out. We were both bummed a bit because we had our eye on other areas to get some pictures.

After getting kicked out of the alleyway, we headed out onto the main street that had no traffic.
I asked Tasha if she was willing to lay in the middle of the street and I am so glad she agreed to do it. I love these next two shots.

Another funny event happened during this next shot. As I took this next shot a couple on their bike came around the corner on the right hand side and rode up along side of us. Here we were both lying on our stomachs taking pictures. What a sight that must have been! Well, they both thought it was great and loved Tasha's boots. What a fun experience.

The rest of the shoot was less eventful, but we got some fantastic images.

Hmmm....L-O-V-E....love...love....

Let me know your favorite image from this session because I am having a hard time figuring it out! I guess that is not a bad thing. Thank you, Tasha, for rockin' my camera for the session.

Columbus, GA Photographer Personal

September was a busy month and the next two months will follow in the same manner. I am wrapping up what hopes to be my final semester at Columbus State University provided I am able to complete an internship. Blogging over the next two months will likely fall off some so I wanted to post a few of my own personal pictures. I must warn you that these pictures are quite random.

When I was at Callaway Gardens shooting Will and Brooke's Wedding Anniversary portraits, I stuck around to photograph the beauty of the Horticultural Center. Here are a few of my favorite pictures.

They had different exotic plants from around the world in their tropical and sub-Mediterranean Conservatories. It was great to see all of the unique plants that I had never seen before like the banana tree in this next picture.

Here is where the randomness begins. :-) Here are a few random shots of my dogs--well, one is my dog and the other is my mother-in-law's dog.

This is Abbey which has made her appearance on my blog a few other times. When we got up this morning, Abbey had crawled through the back fence and was in the neighbor's yard so we had to fish her out of the yard. When she was younger, she was constantly climbing and jumping fences. I thought she had grown out of this, but apparently not. :-(

This is my mother-in-law's dog Snowy.

I do love to cook and try to do so a couple of days a week. Here is a homemade pizza I made last weekend. Before and after...

Total randomness: My husband has a 36 gallon fish tank and has an aerator that creates lots of tiny bubbles and I just loved the texture that they created.

This is my total weakness.....an extra dry Chai Tea Lattes. Every morning, I create this delicious goodness and it starts my day out right. You might ask what an extra dry latte is? Well, about half of the cup is full of a foamy goodness from soy milk. Why foam? If I pour in the milk it makes the drink super sweet and I actually love the spiciness of the Chai Tea.

This is all I have and hopefully I will come out the other end of the next two months safe and sound.

Will and Brooke Portraits

I was super-excited when Brooke emailed to ask if I would photograph their wedding anniversary portraits. I have known Brooke for about three years and as it would have it, Brooke is the reason I got into the business. Last year, Brooke asked if I would photograph her brother's wedding and as luck would have it, I fell in love with portrait and wedding photography. So I owe it all to these two for getting me started.

Will and Brooke have been married for five years and are one of the sweetest couples you will ever meet. If you spend any time with the two of them, you can see that the are perfect for each other.....and I mean perfect. The love you see in these portraits is real and hard to find but they are one of the lucky ones. I am thrilled to say that they recently announced that Brooke is pregnant. Last Saturday, we met at the beautiful Callaway Gardens Resort in Pine Mountain and here are some of my favorite shots.

How cute are they?

I fell in love with this tree and thought is was a perfect compliment to this image.

Our last stop was in the butterfly center and it was brief. See Brooke has naturally curly hair and she straightened it for the shoot and the butterfly center is kept warm and humid for the butterflies. The humidity plays havoc with Brooke's hair. I just love how you can see the humidity in this next and final shot.

Let me know what is your favorite shot! Hope you enjoyed!!

Elizabeth & Frederick / Married

The better part of this summer has proved to be a hot and humid one; however, Saturday September 4th was not one of them. It was a gorgeous and sunny day AND a great day for a wedding.

The setting was the beautiful grounds of
Pine Mountain Club Chalet Resort and a perfect location to commence the marriage of Fredrick and Elizabeth. These two are from Waverly Hall, a country town in Harris County, and when they began planning their wedding, they knew they wanted the location to reflect where they grew up and who they are.

With the help of Pine Mountain Club Chalet's wedding planner, Amanda Mitten, and a host of vendors, the wedding went beautifully.

Vendors:
Planner: Amanda Mitten

Cake: Wedding Cakes by Heather

Caterer: Patricia Huff (706)617-2964

Linens: Blessings in Advance-(706)593-4011

DJ: Troy Willis (706)888-2169

Saturday was kick off for college football and during our final planning session, Elizabeth said the men would be watching the game so she wanted to be sure that we got photos of the party.

Frederick sent over a gift for his bride before the wedding.

Before the wedding, the flower girls were dancing and the next two pictures were just precious.

The next two images are my favorite images of the day.

Finally, man and wife....

Thank you, Frederick and Elizabeth, for allowing me to a part of your day!
